Bensons for Beds, one of Britain’s largest specialist bed retailers, has signed on to a 10 year lease on an 8,939 sq ft (830 sq m) unit (Unit 6) at The Derwent Group’s White City Retail Park near Stretford, Manchester.

The Retail Park, which has undergone a £6.5 million transformation, has attracted a number of leading retailers with recent openings including Home Bargains, The Iceland Food Warehouse, M&S Foodhall, Oak Furniture Land, and a combined store encompassing Currys, PC World and Carphone Warehouse.  White City Retail Park is already home to the likes of Dreams, Furniture Village, Halfords, and Sofology, and continues to attract significant interest from tenants, with furniture retailer Multiyork due to open in November.

James Maule-Ffinch, Senior Asset Manager at The Derwent Group said:

“Bensons for Beds is a strong addition to the high quality retail offering at White City Retail Park, joining other specialist homewares retailers such as Dreams, Furniture Village, Sofology, and Multiyork, which is due to open this month. We are really pleased with the strong interest we continue to receive from tenants, and it is great to see White City thriving and undergoing such exciting changes.”

Situated on the prominent Chester Road in Trafford, White City Retail Park is perfectly placed to become one of the North West’s major retail destinations. The £6.5 million transformation of the retail park will culminate in 210,570 sq. ft. (19,562 sq. m) of prime retail space and 658 free car parking spaces.

Joint agents for White City Retail Park are Cheetham & Mortimer and CSP (Curson Sowerby).
