Manchester based developer, Panacea Property Development, has submitted plans for the next phase of its Well Meadow regeneration development just off Netherthorpe Road, close to the Well Meadow Conservation Area in Sheffield city centre.

Two buildings will deliver 284 residential apartments consisting of 133 two bedroom, 139 one bedroom, and 12 studios. The development is designed specifically for the emerging build to rent (BTR) market.

Provision of a high quality private apartment rental offer in this location will complement the wider regeneration of the area and help to attract and retain the skilled workers needed in a modern city economy.

Occupiers of the completed development will enjoy the key benefits of this strategic location. They will be within walking distance of city centre jobs, restaurants, bars and other amenities. The site is immediately adjacent to Netherthorpe tram stop and is very close to the University of Sheffield as well as the city’s main hospitals.

Phase I of the mixed-use development was delivered in September 2016, and provides over 305 student accommodation units which are now fully occupied. This was delivered in joint venture with Worthington Properties.

Gareth Riddell, Managing Director of Panacea Property Development said:

“Panacea Property Development is delighted to commence the delivery stage of this project having worked closely with Sheffield City Council for more than a two years to ensure that our plans for this next phase of development provide excellent design standards, and achieve the Council’s aspirations for the delivery of institutionally backed build to rent accommodation, within this important regeneration scheme.

“Sheffield’s residential rental offer will undoubtedly be enhanced by purpose built, high quality build to rent accommodation within this area of the city.”

The high quality and sympathetic design has been developed by award winning architects MCAU and Leach Rhodes Walker. Zerum is engaged as planning consultant and project manager. Curtains is the engineer.
