Cavendish Property Developments Appoints Impey as Retail Agents on Summers Quay

Cavendish Property Developments has appointed Manchester based retail agent Impey to its Summers Quay development in Stalybridge, east Manchester.

Impey’s appointment will see them market the 2,637 sq ft (245 sq m) of ground floor, commercial, retail leisure space at the £8 million private “build to rent” regeneration development. Summers Quay is the first, and largest, private rented development to be undertaken by housing provider New Charter Group through its commercial property arm, Cavendish Property Developments (CPD).

The whole of the ground floor is available as one unit of 2,637 sq ft (245 sq m) or is capable of division to provide up to four retail / leisure units ranging from 390 sq ft (36 sq m) up to 783 sq ft (73 sq m). Targeted uses including a small gym, coffee shop with outside dining and small grocery stores.

The development will also be connected up to Tameside’s private and ultrafast fibre technology giving businesses access to high speed internet and Wi-Fi connections.

Located at Armentieres Square in the centre of Stalybridge in Tameside, east Manchester, Summers Quay consists of 67 new homes comprising 22 one bedroom and 45 two bedroom apartments. The scheme started on site in August 2016 with completion planned for June 2018 and is viewed as the next best thing in city centre lifestyle renting, offering canal-side, urban living within a sub-urban setting.

Speaking about the appointment Tony Powell, New Charter Group’s deputy chief executive said:

“Impey’s professional assistance in marketing the Summers Quay retail and leisure space will enable us to find the right occupiers that will enhance the lifestyle offer that Summers Quay residents can expect to enjoy.”

Andy Thornton at Impey said:

“Summers Quay represents a real step-change in the offer in Stalybridge and we hope to attract aspirational brands and uses to the ground floor space. This space will represent not just a fantastic amenity for the residents of Summers Quay but for users of the town centre as a whole.
